Harriet was the daughter of Henry and Mary Anne Trotter, Ballylisk, and was still living at the time of her father's death on 18 May 1893. Her brother, William Trotter, was a bricklayer and her sister, Isabella, was married to James Pierson, who had a farm at Ballymore.
