Only the 2nd Bn of the 28th saw action according to the regimental documentation, "Cap of Honour" page 97 by David Scott Daniell copyright 1951/1975. Richard was wounded twice more once in the arm at Quatre Bras and the head Waterloo. In 1811 the 2nd Bn joined with the 1st Bn of the 28th. The 28th regiment was in Ireland 9 times from 1702 -1879 If you hear anything I am looking for the 28th a foot Regimental Registers and Chaplains' Returns. A number of 'non-statutory' returns exist. The Regimental Registers record births, baptisms, marriages and burials of soldiers or members of their families and cover the period 1761-1924, is located? I think these books contain family member relationship. By the way, the Chester Beatty library in Dublin has a book titled, "Historical Record of the Twentyeighth Regiment Foot 1848". I saw the book, but needed to make an appointment to read it. The book is a first edition, I could find no other references to the book at the regimental museum in Glouster. Being we were only on a tour of Ireland and could not stop.
