    3. Did you get the birth certificate for David born in 1860? The one of mine that I got in that year gives a column which asks when and where the parents were married and issue living and deceased. Don't worry about wrong spelling in records as many could not read or write and it was just the way it sounded to the person taking down the details. My Kenny family who could read and write were recorded as Canny/Carney/Kanney/Kenny and I only found them in bdm by listing D*n*l in fathers first name, Ann* for mothers first name, year and b for birth and scrolled through a huge number year by year. It took me 20 years to find out where in Ireland my g-grandparents married and it was on a birth certificate of one of grandfathers siblings here in Melbourne all along. 3. I totally agree with the spelling issue it took me years to find my husbands paternal GGgranparents arrival in Australia due to a transcription error, it turned out to be just a co-incidence that I found them, I often wonder if some of the transcribers did it in their sleep, although in saying that, without their efforts we would not be able to find anyone. Thanks again Dianne Brenda Pilson wrote: > Did you get the birth certificate for David born in 1860?
