    1. [ARMAGH] Robinson family
    2. I am researching a Robinson family who is believed to have immigrated to Canada on the ship Brigham in 1829. This is what I know and I would appreciate any additional suggestions or information: Samuel Robinson was born in 1785 in Glasslough, Monaghan, Ireland. He lived in Armagh, Ireland when his daughter, Nancy, was born in 1814. In 1829, he and his brother James Robinson came to the Dublin Range in Megantic County near Inverness, Quebec, Canada. I know that Samuel's daughter Nancy emigrated to Canada from Ireland in 1829 and went to Inverness. It is likely that she came with her father and other siblings: William, Thomas, James, Hannah, and possibly Mary Ann. Nancy and her husband William Gillis were married at Samuel Robinson's home. There is a Samuel Robinson buried in Boutelles Cemetery in Inverness, Megantic County, Quebec, Canada, where Nancy and her husband are buried. He died 6/14/1874, and is buried with his wife Ellen McCammon Robinson who died 20 Apr 1852, at age 70. Nancy was born in 1814 or 1815, which would make this Samuel 40 or 41 and Ellen about 32 when Nancy was born. It is believed that this Samuel and Ellen are Nancy's parents. Ellen McCammon was born about 1782 in County Tyrone, Ireland. It appears she married Samuel Robinson while still in Ireland.
