Can someone answer my question: I used to send checks (from USA) for photocopies of BMD's in Northern Ireland, when I had the page and volume from the index for that year. Can I still do that? If so, what is the fee for each? I would make my requests at the GRO, Joyce House in Dublin. Also, I have searched all the Northern Ireland Indexes for my surname (MENEELY, MONRO) and have the page number and volume for the period 1870-1900. Are the original documents available in Northern Ireland? They are not available at the LDS Family History Center -- were they burned up? Marian
Hello Marian, If you look at the www.groireland.ie/fees.htm site you will see the cost of a photocopy is now 6 euros. You will also see their method of payment. If you click on Apply for cert. on the left you will see their address at the bottom of the page. It is interesting to read the History section on this site also. You can also buy certificates online at www.groni.gov.uk No facility for photocopying is available. Postal applications where registration details are given are cheaper than online. The LDS have only filmed the marriages up until 1870.
