I am helping a friend whose family tradition says that the immigrant ancestor came from Armagh, from "Pete on Bush Hill". The ancestor came in the 1700's so we are talking a long time for the name to be corrupted in the telling here or for the name to have fallen out of use in Armagh. I am especially suspicious of the "Pete" part - if it was spelled Peat it would sound more likely. Does this sound vaguely familiar to any?
