I have just posted a new page that includes notes of five deeds from Ballinahonebeg (a townland just south of the road between Armagh & Monaghan and a couple of miles or so west of Armagh City). SEE: http://www.user.dccnet.com/s.brown/history/OLIVER-JACKSON-SEAVER.htm The names mentioned in these deeds include (in order of their mention): Charles SEAVER, Sarah SEAVER, Nicholas SAVER, David VERNER, HUTCHESON's, Richard SEAVER, Robert JACKSON, Thomas CARR, Matthew or Michael SEAVER, Samuel JOHNSTON, James DOBBIN, Leonard SIMPSON, Arthur OLIVER, Thomas VERNER, Henry HALL, Elinor HALL, Edward TIPPING, Benjamin OLIVER, John BURGES, James BRADFORD, James SWANZY, Wm GEOGH, John COANDE. Other Deeds connected to Ballinahonebeg also mention connections between JACKSONs & OLIVERs. As well, Robert JACKSON was also involved in various Monaghan leases with David OLIVER of Ballyrea. I will be getting to them soon. Any and all feedback is welcome, Sharon Oddie Brown Roberts Creek, BC, Canada THE SILVER BOWL: http://www.user.dccnet.com/s.brown/index.html FAMILY TREE: http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=silverbowl
Hi Sharon, I am sending you this information but I am not entirely sure that there is any connection with yours. Daniel Jennings. Abode: Newry, Co. Down. Situation of freehold: Ballymacdermott, Altnaveagh, Lisdrumliskea, and B. Landlords name and residence : Jonathon Seaver Esq., Heathhall, Armagh. (Freeholders List for Co. Armagh, 1825). "Ancient Ballymacdermott was the property of the O'Hanlon family, but during the Plantation of Ulster (1593-)1603) it was granted by Queen Elizabeth I to Sir Marmaduke Whitechurch, who died in May 1635. His granddaughter, Eleanor Symonds, carried this townland into the Seaver family through her marriage to Nicholas Seaver of Ballyaghy, Co. Armagh. Nicholas was the great-grandfather of Jonathon Seaver, one of the larger landords in the area - known locally as 'Seaver of the Bog. (Collins, A.E.P. and Wilson B.C.S., VJA 27, 1964, 3-22). I really wondered if you had ever come across the name JENNINGS in your searches of Seaver documents. Daniel was the brother of my ggggrandfather Andrew Jennings of Newry. The fact that you mentioned Huguenot names is also of interest to me, as I am chasing this possibilty at the moment in relation to the name JENNINGS/JENNIN/GENNIN. Hope I am not sending you information you already have, best wishes, Nicola Jennings.
