In 1851 she is with her husband Frederick Crossland at the Barracks in Leeds (Fred was in the 46th and I have the documents on this - he was later in the 84th and I do not have any documents about that) In 1851 Sophia is listed as being born Devonport. I checked the 1841 census for Sophia in Devonport and could not locate her but did find 2 Fursemans aged 20 in the 11th regiment. As I can not find Sophia Furseman in england in 1841 and she married Fred at some point before 1844 when they have a child in Barbadoes I feel it likely she may have been with her father ( if he was a soldier as she claimed) .
