    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: jackiepaper Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.ireland.arm.general/9600.3/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I have a McConnell family who emigrated from Armagh to Alexandria, VA in 1820: Joseph (b. abt. 1780) and Jane Carson McConnell (also b. abt. 1780). Jane was the daughter of Dr. Samuel Carson of Alexandria (originally from Armagh). Joseph's father may have been Richard McConnell of Armagh. Joseph & Jane came with their children: Richard (b. abt. 1803), Ann (b. abt. 1805, married Henry C. Walsh), William (b. abt. 1807), James (b. abt. 1808), Isabella (b. 1810, married Dr. Ephraim Rankin McLean), Elizabeth (b. abt. 1812), George (b. abt. 1815), Jane (b. abt. 1816, also married Henry C. Walsh), Agify (b. abt. 1820). I have very little information about this family after their arrival, though I have found some evidence of their having been in TN; Carroll County, MS; and LA. Do you recognize any of these McConnells? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Both females. 3) Michael ( middle son of Edward ) together with his second wife Ann + 8 children left for Canada in 1847. Michael & Ann + 4 children died enroute. The oldest son, Edward, bap.3 Nov 1818 settled in West Garafraxa Twp., County of Wellington, Ontario. He died 9 May,1900. He was my great grandfather. It does not seem that your Richard McConnell & mine are the same since his daughters were named Mary Ann & Ellen. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, March 17, 2010 10:38 PM Subject: Re: [ARMAGH] McConnell's of Armagh before 1840 > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Author: jackiepaper > Surnames: > Classification: queries > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.ireland.arm.general/9600.3/mb.ashx > > Message Board Post: > > I have a McConnell family who emigrated from Armagh to Alexandria, VA in > 1820: Joseph (b. abt. 1780) and Jane Carson McConnell (also b. abt. > 1780).
