I have not been able to find out anything on that side of the Atlantic. I will just run this one by you...and if anyone knows anything, perhaps they will reply. My grt. grt. grandfather was named Thomas Wilson. He was born abt. 1827 somewhere in Northern Ireland, perhaps Belfast. He married Isabella Cosgrave. She was born about 1836. We believe we found a marriage record on Family Search that says they were married in Belfast, Ireland. They settled in Portadown, Ireland. Thomas was a railroad porter. He died in Sept.of 1873 at the age of 46. He and Isabella had five daughters that survived him and possibly two other children that passed away at a young age. Their daughters names were Annie, Margaret, Isabella, Elizabeth and Sarah Jane. Sometime from 1885 to 1890...Isabella and the girls emigrated to America. I believe that several of them came at diffent times.Elizabeth was my grt. grandmother, so I have known of her. It ! took me seven years of researching to finally find the resting place of my grt. grt. grandmother Isabella, her daughter Annie, Margaret, Isabella and Sarah Jane. The family all settled in Philadelphia, Pa. They are all buried in and around that area. Isabella (Cosgrave) Wilson , died on June 19, 1892. I would love to find out about their life in Ireland. If any of these Wilson's sound familiar to anyone, or you have any idea where to look for records of them, I would appreciate hearing from you. Brad..I too would be interested in knowing if hiring someone was worth the cost to you, and if you were satisfied with them, perhaps you would be willing to share their name with me. I do not know where Portadown is in regards to the area you researched. I also have two pictures from Ireland...that I can't identify the people in them. Do not know if they are family or friend. Do you know of any place to post them..so that people in Ireland would be able to view them? You can contact me at: [email protected] Thanks, Gail Pepper Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
