    1. [ARMAGH] DOUGAN in County Armagh
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: pclarkson168 Surnames: DOUGAN, BUCHANAN Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.ireland.arm.general/9767/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I'm looking for information on DOUGAN ancestors who came from County Armagh, possibly Creggan, to the U.S. in the early 1800s, possibly in the 1820s. Arthur Dougan and Sarah/ Sally Buchanan had 5 children, all born in Ireland between 1797 and 1817: John, Samuel, Nancy, Matthew, and William. The family settled in northern New York State and the oldest son, John, moved to Wisconsin. Family legend says that the family was Presbyterian; another legend says they were Scots-Irish. Does anyone have advice about where I could find more information about this family in Ireland, such as birth and marriage records, etc.?
