Arthur Dougan and Sarah/ Sally Buchanan had 5 children, all born in Ireland between 1797 and 1817: John, Samuel, Nancy, Matthew, and William. The family settled in northern New York State and the oldest son, John, moved to Wisconsin. Family legend says that the family was Presbyterian; another legend says they were Scots-Irish. Does anyone have advice about where I could find more information about this family in Ireland, such as birth and marriage records, etc.?
