My great great grandparents were Patrick Fitzpatrick and Mary O'Connel. Patrick was possibly born in the 1840s/1850s, and Mary in the 1850s. They had seven children between them, -Mary, born 7th May 1872, married ? McDermott, daughter Mary (Winnie) and immigrated to Australia about 1913. -Ellen, born 1st September 1874, Armagh Ireland -Catherine, born 25 April 1877 -Patrick, born 25 July 1879 Armagh Ireland -Margaret, born 3rd June 1883 Armagh Ireland -Thomas, born 2 December 1885, Barracks, Armagh , Ireland married Josephine Dowling of Dublin in 1910, immigrated to Australia in 1912. -Josephine, born 18 October 1891. Patrick Fitzpatrick was in the army and a Sergent in the 101st Royal Bengal Fusiliers. He appears to have a distinguished conduct medal attached to his uniform in a photo i have of him. There also appears to be a variation of name for Mary O'Connel. On different records i have seen (family search web site) for her children her maiden name has also appeared as Connell and Connelle. My great grandfather Thomas Fitzpatricks birth certificate states it is O'Connel. I know nothing else about Mary. I have several photos of the Fitzpatricks i am unable to identify from the mid-late 1800s. I am hoping someone has information to share with me regarding the Fitzpatricks as it is quite difficult to trace my Irish ancestry from Australia. Also hoping someone out there has a link to these two families. Tracie.... Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
