> Hello Pauline, Thank you for your prompt response. My query is not exactly genealogical, but more about where we might stay (holiday cottage) somewhere close to Portadown. Is there a nice market town or small village which would give good access to Armagh and surrounds - probably close, but not necessarily in, Portadown. I have sourced accommodation but really do not know the places they are referring to, so finding it difficult to make a decision. Is there a time of year, when the area should be avoided? Are there any 'events' we could time our stay around? If we do need to consult records etc. should we start in Dublin or Belfast? I have sent this to the List, as others may be interested in planning a visit as well.
