    1. [ARMAGH] HALL family Corlust, ARM; calling all HALLs in ARM/poss TYR
    2. Judy Hall
    3. Hi Looking for people who may be researching the name HALL in Armagh. There are a lot of HALLs listed in records e.g. at Corlust, Annaboe, Lisbane , Ballysheilmore, Lurgan Knockeshane, Lisbane, Richhill (in Australia JT called his farm Rickhill Farm), Loughgall, Tullyrane, Verner's Bridge, Clohog., Derryallen, Aghantaraghan, Tandragee Mill St Ballymore, Tullyhugh etc etc I would love to be able to find any links between them especially to the HALLs in Corlust. If you are researching a HALL in this area, please read on through my ramblings and see if you have a connection. Thanks Judy HALL Freeholders records and a land lease (by John HALL in Corlust in late 1700s - for the lives of William, Thomas and Henry HALL) indicate the HALLs were landowners in Corlust. In 1858 my ggggrandfather, John Thomas HALL (son of John HALL and Eliza ?FULTON) married Mary Jane HAMILTON in the Clare Presbyterian Church at Tandragee. Four years later, in 1863, John Thos and Mary Jane and their two young children, William 4 and Sarah, almost 2, left Queenstown for a new life in Queensland, Australia. I have records of HALL births, marriages at the Clare Presbyterian Church at Tandragee, but haven't been able to link them all with the Wm, Thomas and Henry (educated guess: sons of John who made lease). The names Thomas, John, Henry, William, Margaret, Sarah, Mary are common throughout the family. Oral family history reports that John Thomas who emigrated was the only son and that he had four sisters (two of them (Jane Eliza and Sarah Matilda appear in the birth records I have from the church - . The christening records indicate the family was living in Corlust at the time. I haven't found JT's birth as yet). Seven of JT's cousins are believed to have emigrated to New South Wales. To complicate the issue even further, I did quite some years ago locate a John and Eliza in Camus, Tyrone in the IGI and put this together as the possible family - fits in with oral family history, if a couple of the girls died in infancy. If this is the case, then JT's father must have left the family in Corlust. The maiden name of JT's wife (FULTON) appeared on his death certificate. Children of John HALL and Elizabeth (refs. IGI and Clare Presbyt. records) No. Sex Name Date of Birth Place of Birth 1 F Elizabeth ch 8 Oct 1820 Donaghmore Co. Tyrone 2 F Sarah (twin) ch April 1823 Donaghmore Co. Armagh *The birthdate for JT fits in with his age on Death Certificate. *The IGI does, however, list HALLs in Donaghmore from about 1740. I suppose they could be cousins.
