I am a descendant of Joseph and Sarah Courtney of Armagh [County] and of Belfast.  They had several children one of whom was my paternal grandmother Elizabeth Courtney who was born in March around 1875.  They went to New York where they lived in Amsterdam. Elizabeth Courtney married Lotus Loren Clark with whom they had three sons one of whom was my father Robert Harold Clark, who was born in 1914 in Schenetady, New York.  Eventually the Clark family moved to Atlanta, Georgia.  The Courtney family belonged here in the United States to the Episcopal Church.  I suppose in Armagh it would have been the Church of England.  I am trying to find any Courtney relatives living in Northen Ireland today.  I do not Know Sarah Courtney's maiden name, and I do not know the relatives of either Sarah or of Joseph Courtney, but I believe that they probably left family when they moved to America.
