    3. Hello, Mr. Clark: I'm interested in all of the folks who came from County Armagh between 1820 and 1855 and who settled in Ontario and Quebec, Canada. I have some McGee / McKee ancestors who came over in 1828 to work at building the Rideau Canal here and I've found pockets of folks from Armagh who seem to have come to Canada in small groups (maybe 5 or 6 families). I've just started a web page for these pioneer families. It's at www.bytown.net/armaghtocanada.htm . There is a search engine on the bottom of that page where you can search for surnames (e.g. Clark and Clarke, one at a time) are you can search for places such as Gananoque, County Armagh, Forkhill, Keady, etc. I'd be glad to hear from others on this list whose ancestors came from Armagh to Canada. 3. Al, Thank you for posting this. Do you have a contact for Dillon McGee who gave you the info in 2008 on Owen HEARTY? He was born in 1828 and I have a Mary HEARTY born in 1823. I wonder if they are siblings or cousins. Mary's father was Owen Hearty back in Armagh. thanks Erica On Tue, May 24, 2011 at 7:40 PM, Allan and Grace (Bytown or Bust) < ag.lewis@sympatico.ca> wrote: > Hello, Mr. Clark: > > I'm interested in all of the folks who came from County Armagh between 1820 > and 1855 and who settled in Ontario and Quebec, Canada. > > I have some McGee / McKee ancestors who came over in 1828 to work at > building the Rideau Canal here and I've found pockets of folks from Armagh > who seem to have come to Canada in small groups (maybe 5 or 6 families). > > I've just started a web page for these pioneer families.
