    3. DId you find them on Ancestry? The other day I was on the help-desk at my local archives and using the library version of Ancestry. After the maximum of 2 hours it shut down and I was logged on again. The person we were looking for had been at the top of the list when searching during the first session, in the second session using the same search criteria he just didn't show up! We eventually did find him by searching for his son who had a less common first name (we were looking at English censuses) Someone else in the archives at the time said it was because Ancestry have half a dozen "similar" databases and it just depends which one you happen to get logged onto. That might explain why you could find your family on one occasion but not on the next.
