Hello, My relatives came from Co. Armagh to Canada in 1847. My gggrandfather, Michael, together with his second wife Mary and 8 children arrived here in 1847. Of this family of 10, only 4 survived the crossing. Michael's father's name was Edward who died 11 Nov.1816. He lived in the Townland of Selshion, Parish of Drumcree and was a farmer. Michael had 2 brothers, John and Richard. Edward had 1 brother, Richard who had 2 daughters. Richard's daughters names were Mary Ann and Ellen. Ellen married a John Ewart and then John Newell. I have all of the McConnell's from Edward (son of Michael) forward to the present time. If you would like more information, send me an email with a request for the kind of information that you would like. Andrew McConnell. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Allan and Grace (Bytown or Bust)" <ag.lewis@sympatico.ca> To: <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com>; <nir-armagh@rootsweb.com>; <NIR-ARMAGH-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, May 24, 2011 7:40 PM Subject: Re: [ARMAGH] Co Armagh Emigration to USA > Hello, Mr. Clark: > > I'm interested in all of the folks who came from County Armagh between > 1820 > and 1855 and who settled in Ontario and Quebec, Canada. > > I have some McGee / McKee ancestors who came over in 1828 to work at > building the Rideau Canal here and I've found pockets of folks from Armagh > who seem to have come to Canada in small groups (maybe 5 or 6 families). > > I've just started a web page for these pioneer families.
