Author: audreyweir Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.ireland.arm.general/9516.1.1.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi Lindsay The information I have on the Graham's parents is the father was William Graham and their mother was Mary Fleming. They were married in Fourtowns Presbyterian Church in the parish of Donaghmore in the district of Banbridge, Co Down, on the 18th Dec 1866. William Graham's father is named as James Graham and William's birth date is given as 1841 and Mary Fleming's birth date is given as 1844 and her father is given as David Fleming. The birth records I have for their children show Mary Fleming as their mother. Children born: Sarah Ann 01.10.1867 - Jane Eliza 28.06.1869 - Mary 10.04.1871 - Margaret 06.07.1873 - James 24.04.1875 - Emma 13.06.1880 and then from the census records I have William John born around 1887. William John married in Belfast 12.07.1918 and his daughter Eleanor is still alive, she is the lady I mentioned before, she is known as Nelly. Jane Eliza Graham married John Lowe in Clare CI 07.08.1885 and she then I think marries my Great Great Grandfather Wil! liam Turner and then marries a Matthew Wallace around 1895/96. I have her on the 1901 and 1911 census with Matthew Wallace and can't find the marriage to William Turner or Matthew Wallace. I am trying to find out if the David you mentioned was born before or after Jane Eliza marries John Lowe because he was known to us as Davy Graham. William Graham and Mary can be seen on the 1901 and 1911 census, living in Ballyshielmore, Co Armagh and they appear to have a farm. You can search the 1901/1911 census for Ireland free, Google National Archives for Ireland 1901/1911 census and then search for William Graham. Mary dies between 1901 and 1911 so it would be easy to apply for her death cert from the General Registry Belfast. I hope some of this information is useful to you, I will have another search to see if I can find where William Graham and Mary Fleming give as their residence when they marry and let you know if I have any success and I will also try to ring Nelly and ! see what she can remember, when I last talked to her she said she had been burgled and they stole the box with her personal papers in but the police found the box and returned it to her, she said that I could have a look at the family papers if I wanted, I don't know what the papers are exactly but I will ask her, they will most likely be about her mother's side of the family rather than the Graham side. Yours Audrey. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. [ARMAGH] Emerald Ancestors
    2. Hi, List, I am not a member of Emerald Ancestors, but a result I got when I entered my ancestor's name was for the 1821 census, Co. Armagh. From what I understand this census is not extant, and wonder if anyone else has encountered this, and could tell me what it pertains to? I don't want to register and pay for information before I know to what it refers. Thanks, Kathy K. Pittsburgh, PA

We know her siblings' names, and we know her father was William Graham, but that's all we know about him. We're pretty sure her mother's name was Mary Jane Adams, but we're not positive on that. Any information on the family, but them especially, would be great. Thanks for your help. I'll talk with my dad and aunt this weekend to see what they know. 1. [ARMAGH] New research material shared on The Silver Bowl
    2. Sharon Oddie Brown
    3. I love the joke, /I may be slow, but my work is poor./ Perhaps it will apply to the most recent work I have done on deeds. Thanks to a couple of people who ascribe to the sensibility of RAOGK (Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness), I have been able to make a bit more progress on a number of fronts. I have posted a deed dated 1773 May 1. The footnotes I have added reference other work that I did before on other deeds. The transcription is thanks to Dawn in Dublin. Names and places mentioned: Rev. George JACKSON of Stabannon, Co. Louth; Capt. Jonathon Bowes BENSON; Charles BROUGHTON; Jonathon COURTNEY; Edward COURTNEY; Nathanial LOW aka LOWE of Loweville, Co. Galway; Fownes JACKSON; Joseph HAYDEN; James POE. OTHER PLACES: Tully, Parish of Louth. This deed encouraged me to put together a half dozen pages of evidence that I have accumulated on the JACKSONs of Steeple, Co. Antrim This line of JACKSONs has pricked my curiosity on two counts.: Firstly, the earliest known George JACKSON of Steeple, Co. Antrim is referred to as a Gent, and a successful merchant, and he was also probably associated with the leather trade - aka a cordwainer. There were also a significant number of other JACKSONs in the leather trades in Ireland in this time frame, and whose holdings suggest that they shared a similar social status: Gilbert JACKSON (1677-1723) and James JACKSON (1669-1711) both of Co. Down; Joseph JACKSON in Co. Monaghan (father of Richard JACKSON 1769-1836); Robert JACKSON (abt 1650-1711) of Crooked Staff in Dublin; William JACKSON of Killmainhorn, Co. Dublin; Daniel JACKSON of Athy, Co. Kildare in a 1709 deed; and Richard JACKSON active in shipping tanned goods in the late 1600s in Drogheda. Then, since I was mopping up anyway, I updated the JACKSONs of Santry. Significant new facts have been added to this family tree, thanks to some research mailed to me from Linde in Dublin. These bits of research not only connect to those seeking JACKSONs, but also to dozens of other people connected with them in many counties in Ireland through either business interests or family relationships. These JACKSONs did get around. The easiest way to access this info is to go to my website (link beneath) and hit the NEW hyperlink in the hyperlink banner near the top of the page. As always, I appreciate learning about any errors I may have made -- no matter how seemingly trivial -- and also appreciate being able to add info to the footnotes. Enjoy, Sharon Oddie Brown -- Sharon Oddie Brown, Roberts Creek, BC, Canada. History Project: www.thesilverbowl.com
