Ruddocks & Coles lived nearby in various townlands & must have been acquainted. The following websites will yield a lot of data; IFHS Co. Armagh (pay) EMERALD ANCESTORS Co. Armagh (pay) Familysearch.org (The above 3 give birth, marriage, death, census & Griffiths data) Connors Genealogy Co. Armagh - Tithe applotments for Kilmore & other areas of C0. Armagh IGP-Web Co Armagh Armagh Baptisms Ask about Ireland free detailed Griffith data with maps The 1901 & 1911 censuses at the National archived. The western side of Co. Down which borders on the eastern side of Armagh around Newry is also worth a look. All the places of interest are quite close together - only a few miles. In the early to mid 1850's most people lived as smallholders on subdivided townlands which are nothing more than larger farm areas. I think one should look at the general area & not be blinded by townland names. Many families were split up between neighbouring towlands because of land pressure. After the potato famines, things changed drastically & most were forced to leave the land. Many emigrated all over the world. USA, Canada, South Africa, Australia & New Zealand were popular destinations. Aided passages helped a lot. That lot should keep you busy for many moons!
