I was hopeful, but I'm still in the "black hole" like many others it seems. It would make me wonder why they would be in Kilkenny, etc if they are from Donaghcloney area. I'm still trying to discover where Grace Warren might have been born. The marriage in my prior post has me confused as I think that marriage might be the correct one, but Census info makes her younger (women tended to fib a bit I know) Do you know if the location of marriages in prior post is relevant to Donaghcloney area please? One thing that seems to show in all the marriage records in Canada for their children listed here.......Episcopalian for religion...married Presbyterians also. With naming patterns the son William, if indeed the first born may lead back to Henry's father and perhaps the last son, John might lead back to Grace Warren's father. I have 95 year old mother and have been finding her ancestors for the last 12 years. We knew nothing when we started as no records still existed in family hands. *****· I'm wondering where you get your information as her Great Grandfather Henry Taylor stated born County Down and married Grace Warren in Ireland. *****· I have found the children's information from Canada records of Census after immigration in 1866 and death and marriage records in Canada. *****· I'm having difficulty in finding any records for the family as son states b. Clonmel and two daughters state b. Armagh. *****· The closest I can "assume" is the Donaugcloney area where there seems to be family members? on Griffith's on Henry, John, William, Elizabeth Taylor's there as farmers and weavers. *****· Henry and Grace named their known children William, Mary, Grace, Elizabeth, Abigail and finally John (last child and first born in Canada in 1867) *****· Henry's occupation on arrival in Ontario census states weaver and so that is why I wonder if they are from Donaugcloney. This is close to Lurgan, Armagh and thus perhaps the birth records that read Armagh? *****· I have all their birth dates except the exact date of Grace Warren. Any help on where to find records would be very much appreciated. If I could send you the information you would perhaps see where I could find records? *****· I found another marriage on Familysearch.org with a John Warren marrying Abigail Taylor in 1840 and so I think that I have the right location in Donaughcloney as that is apparently where John lived and the Abigail name is also later used in two generations of my mother's ancestors. 3. DId you find them on Ancestry? The other day I was on the help-desk at my local archives and using the library version of Ancestry. After the maximum of 2 hours it shut down and I was logged on again. The person we were looking for had been at the top of the list when searching during the first session, in the second session using the same search criteria he just didn't show up! We eventually did find him by searching for his son who had a less common first name (we were looking at English censuses) Someone else in the archives at the time said it was because Ancestry have half a dozen "similar" databases and it just depends which one you happen to get logged onto. That might explain why you could find your family on one occasion but not on the next.
