I have been in touch with a local historian, Tommy Glenny, and this is his response to my query about Tillie Wilson: "Yes, Tillie Wilson is now deceased. About 5 years. She lived into her 90's My wife knew her very well, and visited her often, sat by her open fire side in her thatched cottage. I have intended sending you a photo. Once I get some others sorted. Was out on Saturday and my camera gave up the ghost, so I am now delayed. Nobody of the Wilson family now lives in the cottage. In fact I think the family male line has died out as it is in possesion of a married niece of Tillie Wilsons. Tillie was unmarried. She had a sister who married a Dynes McAdam, and another who married a Alexander Trouton, and others who I don't know. A Roy Clarke and family now lives in the cottage. Its kept as it was built some 250 years ago. Tho' it has electricity and running water now. The address of the property as in the email is a bit mixed up. It is now simply Cloncore Rd, Birches Portadown." Do you have any further details about your Wilsons? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Greetings from Canada! I have recently received some new information on my ROE research and wondered if anyone on list can help! Here are the details: Arms were granted to Richard Roe, Captain in Colonel Anthony Hungerford's Regiment on 25 October 1647 by William Roberts Ulster Kind of Arms, No right has been established since. Arms are described as follows: ARMS: Argent nine bees volant transversed about a beehive sable on a canton gules a rose of the first. CREST. (see webpage below)a demi lion rampant ermyn armed and langued gules holding betwixt his paws a creassant gules. Richard Roe - son and heir of Richard Roe of Ballsall Warwick, and descended from the family of Roe of Maxwell .........ran searches on these names/places and did not get very far, any ideas? Captain in Colonel Anthony Hungerford's Regiment, sent to Ireland in 1647 (then 7 is crossed out and in place the figure 1) to suppress the rebellion It does not say who Richard married but he had issue: Charles Roe of Ballintaggard, Co. Armagh no marriage for Charles but issue William Roe died without issue and Thomas Roe of Mount Roe Armagh Thomas Roe married ? and had issue Thomas Roe Charles Roe Charlotte Walter settled in Baltimore John settled in Baltimore Edward Rector of Donegore & Killride Edward married ? and had issue Samuel Roe died unmarried George Roe born 20 Oct. 1788 and died 25 July 1858 Edward died without issue William died unmarried George married 23 April 1828 Eliza, daughter of Major Samuel Noble and had issue Samuel Black Roe of Ballyconnel born 11 Sept. 1830 George Noble born 11 Oct 1833, died 14 Feb 1893; Capt. 3rd Buffs Edward Alexander Henry born 28 June 1839 William born 4 March 1847 I found info in Times archives re this last family and it appears that they spent a great deal of time in RA trying to stave off the bailiffs from taking Ballyconnel, a sizable estate with woodlands etc. but I cannot connect this information in any way to my ROE info Now my ROE family. My GG Grandmother Sarah Ann Roe married Francis Mallard Clark in Plymouth in 1863, I have the marriage cert Then I found them on the 1881 and it turned out to be an Irish search, which has proven very difficult. Now it seems they may have been Irish with English roots? What I have found on my Roes can be seen on the following web pages: http://members.cox.net/ggthomp/roberthenryroe1816.html http://members.cox.net/ggthomp/francisclark1841.html http://members.cox.net/ggthomp/thomasroe1838.html http://members.cox.net/ggthomp/richardroe1845.html http://members.cox.net/ggthomp/williamroe1848.html http://members.cox.net/ggthomp/arthurroe1854.html Thanks for any help Best to everyone Jane, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Hi, I have just joined the list as I have discovered a gggggrandfather in Lissummon. He was the father of Daniel (d. 1830) and Andrew Jennings (d. 1818), of Newry. Andrew lived in Upper North St., and had an iron foundry. Daniel lived on Mill St., and had a flour mill. Andrew married Catherine O'Toole of Tassagh, Co. Armagh and had four sons and two daughters, including Rev. Daniel Jennings, P.P. of Moira (?). Daniel married Bridget ? and had two sons and two daughters. One son Patrick married Anne Coleman of Newry. One daughter Bridget married Daniel McCartan. Do these names connect with any one? Other marriages were with Clarke (Newry) and Corley(Monaghan). Nicola

I' m not 100% certain of the address, but it's pretty close, I think. Tillie Wilson Carne Hill, Glencove 36 Derryinch Rd Portadown, Co Armagh BT6 21VV My Dad's cousin visited Tillie about 20 years ago, but she was elderly at that time and has probably died. The cousin said the house Tillie lived in was one of the last thatched-roofs in the area and it was in such good condition that the Trust was going to keep it as a museum. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Brad Wilson BMacLiam@aol.com Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I am trying to locate information for: Hugh Crawford (Husband) Born ???, Northern Ireland, Isabel Green (Wife) Born ???, Northern Ireland, Jane Crawford (Daughter) Born 3/20/1895, Portadown, Armagh, NI, Presbytarian This is information I got from the 1930 US Census, and a 1917 Canadian marriage license for Jane Crawford (Scott) I can not find any record in Northern Ireland that links these 3 names together. The best record I found is there was a "Hugh Crawford" born in Banbridge in 1870 to parents James and Ellen Crawford. The time and place seem right, but no link to Jane or Isabel. Do these names look familiar to anyone? Nick Scott Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
