She was the 3rd partner to Richard Matchett who was still married to his 2nd wife Annie Lester in Derrycorr Armagh when he came to Australia. The family of Phoebe and Richard in Victoria Australia was not common knowledge back in Ireland as was Annie Lester and her family to the folks in Australia.Richard was born in 1806, son of William Matchett and Mary Robinson of Derryanville.Richard's first wife was Mary Matchett or Masters. I believe the Redmonds/Redmans lived nearby to Richard and Annie in Derrycorr and some still live there. I would be very interested in any information on the Redmond family in Ireland. Greetings, I am new to the list and to County Armagh research. I have just found that my husband’s ancestor, Daniel MILNE, was born abt 1811 in County Armagh. This info comes from the 1871 census of Scotland where he was living at Bonhill, Dunbartonshire. He married Margaret LEARMONTH in Edinburgh 3 March 1835. Daniel and Margaret MILNE had 5 sons – Francis (my husband’s gg-grandfather) 1838, James 1840, John 1842, George 1846 and Robert 1849. All I know about Daniel is that he was a shoemaker. Any help would be much appreciated. Kind regards, Janice Searle Darfield, NZ (a long way from everywhere) -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. My information relates to possible LYONS connections and to the presbyterian church of Lislooney. My great grandmother, Eleanor Sproull (several spellings) Lyons left Ireland in 1826 bound for New York with her three sons, William, John, and Jonathan. Her husband, William, had died (in Ireland) shortly after the birth of the younger son. I have a letter of recommendation for Eleanor from "James Gibson P. Minister of Lisslooney, near Tynan" written just prior to her departure in 1826. In 1901, my grandfather visited Ireland and found Lyons living at the old family home in Lisdrumbrocas townland (very small) (near Brotally townland and Fairview on A3 southwest of Armagh. He documented members (male) of the Lyons families living there at the time. I did the same in 2001. The Lyons we found in each trip did not know the names of their grandparents, so while I have not been able to confirm our relationship, I am convinced it exists. I would be pleased to discuss this and other information with anyone. William Lyons, Smyrna GA, USA Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
