I know from sources that he was born in Armagh and that he fought with the Royal Irish Fusiliers, and he signed up in Armagh Ireland. I know that John Neville died on 1 July 1916 a few months prior to my fathers birth. This information was from the Barnardos orphanage. My grandfather's service number was 14591 he served in the 9th battalion. I understand that there was a pension paid for the care of my father to a Mrs Warrilow and later to a Mrs. Spence. I have tried to contact the museum in Armagh to find information that they might possess but have not recieved a reply, so I do not know if they recieved it our not. Also found a Peter and Francis Campbell at Ballyreagh in Co Tyrone(I think!) plus a David, Peter and John campbell registered as lease holders(40 shillings) in 1823 at the same place. So their is a possibility that I might have to look into Co Tyrone. Have a nice day, until we link up again. David. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. My father, who was born in his house and grew up living with his grandparents always said his grandfather was of Irish descent and emigrated to Troy from Australia where he was born. However, after much research, all his Troy records say he was born in Ireland. One of his sons found he was from Co. Armagh but listed his mother as Mary Todd on his death certificate. When I hired Armagh Ancestry to research the family, they came up with his mother being Mary Fox (same townland that family had with Mary Todd and same birth year). Last Fall, I went to Belfast to research the church records myself and confirmed the mother of the George Campbell born in Derrylard, was Mary Fox. The relatives who did the original research, are no longer living so don't know where they got Todd. There is supposed to be a family bible around but haven't found where. The object of this long piece, is there are still some loose ends in my Campbell research and one of them is where did Australia fit in all of this. I have searched some records in Australia looking for a George Campbell but so far none fit. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. The River Bann forms much of the boundary between Drumcree and Seagoe parishes. The parish of Drumcree, including the town of Portadown, is situated on the west side of the River Bann. Directly across the river from Portadown, is situated the townland of Edenderry in the parish of Seagoe. While Edenderry is often referred to as a suburb or the "east end" of Portadown, actual governmental/territorial divisions denoted it as a townland in Seagoe parish. >From the PRONI's Geographical Index, listing the townlands in Seagoe parish: http://www.proni.gov.uk/geogindx/parishes/par241.htm >From the Belfast and Ulster Towns Directory for 1910, hosted online by LibraryIreland, Seagoe Parochial Hall was situated at Edenderry. http://www.libraryireland.com/UlsterDirectory1910/Portadown.php In the segment of his Topographical Dictionary of Ireland (pub. 1837) treating on Seagoe Parish, Samuel Lewis wrote, "At Edenderry, which forms a suburb to Portadown, there is a meeting-house for Presbyterians in connection with the Synod of Ulster, of the third class. There is also a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists at Bluestone; and a dispensary has recently been established." http://www.from-ireland.net/lewis/arm/seagoe.htm Hope this helps. If it doesn't, it might assist to clarify further by posting Ian Maxwell's description for comparison/contrast to the above. ajk

McParland ended up in Massachusetts while McCort and McAteer were in NYC. McAteer ended up in Paterson, NJ. One Paterson Bridgett (mother was McAteer) adopted by a Lappin family.
