    3. Sharon, I have already deleted my message but I hope I headed it by acknowledging that it was transcribed from FHL film 100859, which had recorded page by page the original 2 inch thick volume published by the Public Record Office of Ireland, which, by the way, was set out in perfect copperplate pen-and-ink handwriting, an art now largely lost that makes me ashamed of my own scrawl. Having said that, as we know, these were transcripts and perfect handwriting should not be confused with mistake free transcription. And to begin with, the parish originals were frequently hard to read and contained their own inaccuracies. 3. Hi, Are the TITHE books on CD rom? Can someone lookup any Ferrigan's in Monaghan before 1844 to see what parish they lived in so I may contact the church directly. I am looking for Catholic Churches only. Can someone look up for me 5. _*TITHE BOOKS*_ which are compiled by town land within a Parish. within each parish. For example the parish of Aughnamullen in county Monaghan has over 100 town lands so you can see what a task that would be to search all those records. Looking for Armagh, Louth counties also. Specially interested in 1830-1850. Dave Springer

She didn't know her father well as she grew up not being in his care after her mother died young, but she did seem to think that there was a sister who may have gone to live in the US. She said there was a Bella or Leticia. Given that Thomas Dynes Atkinson named his daughter from his 2nd marriage Leticia, this sounds more likely although my nanna was in her 80s when I spoke to her about all this. 3. Good afternoon: In a recent look at the phone listing for Macklins in northern Ireland I saw only one Macklin family while the rest lived in and around Belfast. I'll take a look at the Creggan Historical Web site to see what else I can find. The Macklins initially came from the Ardcarne district [Strabane and Dunnamanagh] of Co Tyrone moved to Down and between them and the Macklins down into Monaghan they were primarily Presbyterian and Church of Ireland. The name Macklin was derived from the MacLochlainns of Enishowen. name change occurred in 1580-1590. From your notes it looks like the Creggan Macklins were primarily RC.
