Ann's maiden name was Singleton too. Their children's names were Alexander, Ann, John, Thomas and Samuel - no Robert. I found some Singletons in Mullaghbrack parish which might be worth a look. 1. [ARMAGH] Hollowood/Hollywood relisting
    2. the2sues
    3. I have had no bites or possible ideas to search for information about this family. I would really appreciate any ideas, leads, help. I have a family who migrated to Australia in 1857 as Ellen Hollywood and 5 young children. She was a widow and her husband Patrick, a farmer, of Armagh would probably have died 1855-6, judging by the ages of the children. The boys, aged 11 to 1, were named Owen, Patrick, Arthur, James and William. In Australia they went by the surname Hollowood. I imagine Ellen and Patrick married about 1846. Ellen was illiterate. In Australia their religion was Catholic. Ellen's maiden name was Gribben. I have been unable to find any BDM information about this family, nor can I pin down the part of Armagh they came from. I would appreciate any help in tracking down more about this family. Cheers, Sue

    1. [ARMAGH] John JOHNSTON of Newry
    2. I'm trying to learn more about a cousin of my greatgrandmother, John JOHNSTON. The 1908 obituary of his brother Edward indicates John was living in Newry at the time. John and Edward's father Thomas was a superintendent of the Laragh mills in Co. Monaghan, so John may have also been involved in milling. I don't know when he was born, but several siblings were born between 1835 and 1856. The family was Catholic. Any advice would be much appreciated! Diane Culhane </HTML>
