I am a descendant of Bernard Garvey and Sarah Quigly who left Newtounhamilton about 1850 with their son Hugh Garvey and ended up in Pennsylvania. I wonder if all the Garveys from that small town were related. 3. Dawn: @ [email protected] We didn't know anything about my grandfather, except that he was sent to Canada from England. I started with Barnardo's just because they were the best known. They checked and he wasn't there, but they sent me addresses of many such homes in the UK. I either e-mailed or snail mailed all of them, and hit the jackpot with the National Children's Homes. They sent me all they had on him, no charge even. There were the admittance forms his father filled out for my grandfather and his two sisters. After my grandfather came to Canada, to their Hamilton, Ontario home, he was sent out to a farmer. He wrote letters back to the Hamilton home, which they kept, and when that home closed in the 1930, (I think) everything they had was sent back to England, including all his letters and an update written by the Hamilton supervisor after he was out on his own with his family. It was far beyond what I expected. Jim

She married James Mulligan in abt.1810. Because of the names she gave her children - John Mason,Olivia Baldwin, Montague Baldwin & Julia Sheldon I believe she maybe related to the Rev. John Henderson Mason, who was chancellor of St Patrick's cathedral. His wife was Julia Tibeaudo, a descendant of John Tibeaudo & Ann De Bebrien. I know that his father was John Mason of Wexford & that his mother was a Miss Henderson. I have found information on several of their children- Rev.Richard Evans Mason, Rev. William Montagu Mason,Henderson Baldwin Mason & Olivia Mason. Olivia married the Rev. Mason Mulgan, the son of Matilda &James Mulligan(he changed the spelling of his last name). I have seen the entry in Burke's Landed Gentry on the Tibeaudos but do you have any more information on the Tibeaudos,Masons,Baldwins? I would like to find the parents of Matilda & if she is related to the Rev. John Henderson Mason. J. He married Emily Cunningham as he says an Emily is his wife when he applied for citizenship in 1919. He arrived on the same boat as your Robert H., but arrived 2 years later. Robert Henry ran a blacksmithing shop North of Ballard in Seattle from 1910 on probably near the waterfront and later a stable in Lake City in Seattle, not Lake. Oddly, he did go to GLobe, AZ, but another Robert Thompson, 33 years old, is there in 1920. He is a miner possibly from Banbridge area. I lose William John pretty fast. He arrived 1909 to Mrs. Humphries in Yonkers and the Humphries have moved before I could find them. He is in Seattle in 1919 with Emily still in Ireland. He worked at the YMCA as an elevator operator. There was someone else from the area who was doing that and I can't remember their name. I will search. Martha married Robert Brown Alexander in 1906, I am fairly sure. Try the 1911 census and I will try 1901 later. Craigavon is the new name for the area including Bleary. That William could be my uncle because he was older than my father and my father was born about 1889. All I knew about the Porters were that they were friends of the family. Now when my father left New York he moved to Washington state and lived in a small town named Pe Ell until he moved to California in 40's. Also I jsut remembered that my aunt's name was Martha Alexander and I think she lived in Belfast?
