It has taken me quite a while to locate my Creagen family in Belfast. The reason being; I was looking for the wrong spelling. It was Cregan. After locating birth certificates etc. I have found that they changed the spelling of their name to Creagen when they came to Canada abt. 1913. They could all read and write so I was wondering why would they change their name? I have found my grandfather in the 1911 census living on Sidney St. as well as my uncles living on Crumlin Rd. This would be Shankhill Ward? They were listed as Presbyterian (although baptised in Lisburn Cathedral) and all worked in the linen factory. Could someone tell me where the nearest Presbyterian Church would be for that area. Also what linen factory would they work in? Kindest Regards, Maureen
