    3. Interested in the family of a Walter Stewart, arrived in America prior to 1788, when he bought land from James Templeton in Laurens County, SC. Born about 1750 probably in County Antrim, by family tradition was a weaver there. Married to Mary (Ross?), had seven sons: Samuel (b. in Ireland), John (born on ship to America), Robert, James, Walter Jr., Clark Berry, and David Bobo Stewart. Had 75 grandsons among whom are found the names Clark and Preston, possibly from paternal ancestors in N. Ireland. Any information gladly accepted, will reciprocate. Mary S. 3. Mary, we've exchanged family notes before, as my ggg grandfather Joseph Stewart died in neighboring Newberry, SC in 1808. The sons of your Walter Stewart, Samuel and John suggest some possibilities. However, I cannot recall if you were successful in persuading any male Stewart cousins to participate in the STEWART DNA Project. I just made a review of the DNA Genealogies and I don't see one which might fit your Stewart line.. Did I miss something. Thanks. Dick Stewart Carefree, AZ
