Man, do I need help. I don't know where to turn.......... Using the Griffiths Valuation, I have found information saying that my ancestor came from County ANTRIM, Parish CULFEIGHTRIN, Location ( or Townland) of DRUMADOON. I live in Pennsylvania in the USA and would like to obtain what I hear is called an "Ordinance Survey Map" for Drumadoon back around 1850, not long before my ancestor left Ireland ( he left in 1854). I believe I had tried sending an E-mail to PRONI and another place in Northern Ireland, but neither was of any help..... I would like to travel to Ireland to find the exact place my ancestor came from. I believe that the Ordinance Survey Map (Ord S 9 is the exact map listed in the Griffiths with the finding for my ancestor) would tell me a lot about the town where my ancestor came from. Can anyone tell me how to buy this Ordinance Survey Map I need for my research? Also, Drumadoon does not show up on a present day map of Northern Ireland - maybe it's too small a village??? How can I find just where Drumadoon is so that I may visit it? Please write me at [email protected] if you can help me with either of these........ LAURIE (McDonald) Maley
