    2. Information wanted An On-Line and Free Database Of Advertisements For Irish Immigrants Published In The Boston Pilot From October 1831 through October 1921, the Boston Pilot newspaper printed a “Missing Friends” column with advertisements from people looking for “lost” friends and relatives who had emigrated from Ireland to the United States. This extraordinary collection of more than 31,438 records is available here as a searchable online database, which contains a text record for each ad that appeared in the Pilot. The advertisements contain the ordinary but revealing details about the missing person’s life: the county and parish of their birth, when they left Ireland, the believed port of arrival in North America, their occupation, and a range of other personal information. Some records may have as many as 50 different data fields, while others may offer only a few details. The people who placed ads were often anxious family members in Ireland, or the wives, siblings, or parents of men who followed construction jobs on railroads or canals. 3. You need to order the films from the LDS Family History to find the info on those films. Go to the nearest local Mormon or LDS Family History Center to you and order the films that you want..it will cost you a very small amount of money per film for about 3 weeks rental. It will work..The cost is about $3.50 per film rental..and a little more if you wnat to permanently rent the film..maybe $5.00 for unlimited rental. If you cannot find the name of the street you are looking for in the street directory and streets and wards pages on my web site, consider this: The street may not have existed in 1901. Rosemary kindly sent me this information below which confirms this. Thank you very much Rosemary for sharing this information with me. I hope that you don’t mind my using your message in this way to let our fellow listers know about this possibility. ****************************************************************************** ************ Dear Jean, I went to PRONI last week, and Listowel Street didn't exist in 1901. However, I think I may have made a breakthrough at the Registrar's Office, having found my grandparents' wedding. I await the certificates. Nice to communicate with you. 1. 1901 Irish Census
    2. 1901 Irish Census on my web site at the link below. Alternatively, type: Jean McCarthy into the GOOGLE search engine for a direct link. I have updated the Belfast 1901 Census Streets and Wards pages on my web site. On completing this marathon task I have come to realise that there are still some streets and film numbers missing. I have located some more film numbers and streets from the LDS on line catalogue. I have added these to my street directory. They are the numbers coloured blue. I hope to find the rest of the missing numbers in due course. At which time I will add them to my street and wards pages as well as the street directory. A little reminder on how to make use of the streets and wards pages and the street directory. If you know the name of the street that your ancestor lived in 1901. Then search the streets and wards pages first of all. This is to find the ward of Belfast that the street was in. Then search the street directory on the pages that your ward is in. This will give you the LDS and PRONI film numbers for the street you are looking for. Kindest Regards. Jean McCarthy nee Moore. Staffordshire, England. James Macdore ,Town Head, Antrim John Mc Adorey Quarter Lenagh Antrim Michael Mc Adory Gally Hill Antrim Ellen Mc Adory Craigywarren Kirkinriola I think the John McAdorey from Lenagh is my great great-grandfather. I assume the Charles McAdorey might be a brother or father. Any information on either Charles or John would be welcome. Is MCADURRAGH a phonetic version of MCADOREY. Mark Lusby Derry
