    1. HALL SURNAME
    2. Gill Walmsley
    3. Hi there, I'm new to this list and was just posting to see if anyone else is researching the HALL surname, particularly around the Carnmoney parish. My ancestors came from Carlisle in England, but for some (as yet unknown!) reason moved to Carnmoney sometime around 1805 until 1822. They had one child in Ireland that I know of - John Sidney HALL who was baptised in Carnmoney parish church in 1809. I found him on the IGI, but cannot find any other children on there. Can anyone tell me if the IGI's coverage of this parish is good around that time? Is it possible there are more births in the parish registers that don't appear on the IGI? Thanks for any help! Gill

    3. One last one on the Rawlings clan: RAWLINGS, John Nixon, b. 6 May 188, St. John, NB, Canada I've listed the information I have on him below and I'd love ot add to it if possible, but what I really am looking for is information on a South African/Boer War memorial statue located in St. John, NB, Canada. I have a postcard of the statue. A family story says that John Nixon posed for this statue. Does anyone know who the sculptor of the statue was or where records pertaining to it might be located? I'm also interested in any railroad records. Anyway, here's additional info on John Nixon Rawlings: Two tours in British military - 3rd Regiment Canadian Artillery, 1899-1900 - 2nd Mounted Rifles, 1901-1903 Worked as locomotive fireman for Intercolonial Railway in 1903.
