They were Presbyterian. Antrim town or county was not specified. And yes, Kircubbin is in Down, but Agnes' Australian born family, some years after her death, may not have been entirely geographically accurate. Finding a baptism with right time and parents, not far from Belfast, seemed to deserve further investigation. Information on certificates suggests our Agnes McMASTER, daughter of Samuel and Agnes, was born about 1825 in Antrim, but she may be the Agnes born 1824 at Kircubbin (IGI). She married William McCULLOUGH about 1845, and they had at least three daughters: Margaret, Agnes and Sarah Jane, the last born in Sydney, where William was an innkeeper. His parents were Robert and Sarah McCullough. Love to hear from anyone with a possible connection. Maureen Robinson, Canberra, Australia

Maureen - This isn't much help, but my grandmother's sister was married to a man named Hamilton MCCULLOUGH back in the 1890's in New Windsor, NY USA. They had three sons...two were married, but had no children, and the third died in an accident when he was still a young man back in 1933. There are no descendants of this family line living today. This McCullough family had been in Orange County/Newburgh/New Windsor NY as far back as the 1840's and one of them carved the gravestone for another one of my ancestors. It is more than likely that they originated in Antrim, as did my WISEMAN forebears, from Ballywatermoy Townland in Lower Toome in the central part of the County.. Also, in the 1950's I knew a MCMASTER named William whose family were from a small farming community in Southeastern Pennsylvania USA called Landenberg. He is still around, but I haven't been in touch with him since 1953. Greetings to you too, We also have 'Waddell' in our Antrim genealogy. The name Jasper Waddell Graham has been repeated over a few geneations, starting from when James Graham marries Margaret Wilson in Ballinderry in 1852. They name a son Jasper Waddell Graham & this carries on for another 2 geneations. Margaret Wilson's father was Jasper Wilson, so maybe his mother was a Waddell? I would like to hear more of the 'Waddell's' Cheers from New Zealand, Colleen Graham Researching Greenock CAMPBELL's, Antrim GRAHAM, WADDELL & WILSON, as well as HOUSTON & MC MEACHAN co Down. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Roxanne Neel" <roxanne4mastiffs@verizon.net> To: <NIR-ANTRIM@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, October 31, 2006 8:01 AM Subject: [NIR-ANTRIM] KENNEDY, MORROW, ROWAN, WADDELL & WHAN Families > Greetings, > > Would like to exchange information. Colleen, I would also like to know more about the WADDELLs. One of my sons' great-great grandfathers was Waddell MORROW. Perhaps his mother's maiden name was WADDELL or perhaps it was just a name they liked? This Waddell MORROW married Anna ROWEN abt. 1877 in Rathfriland, Co. Down. One of their sons is also named Waddell MORROW who was born abt. 1879. Their other children that I know of were George MORROW b. 1878 and Thomas Rowan MORROW born April 1881 {this son died with the Titanic. It will be interesting to find the names of Waddell MORROW's parents. Roxanne Neel Southern California Researching: KENNEDY, MORROW, ROWAN, WADDELL & WHAN families in Northern Ireland & Scotland. The Waddel's were in Franklin Co., Pa. at a very early date in the 1700, there is a private cemetery named after them. I really know very little of this family other than that. Yes, but Carolyn Shearer is presently on vacation, however I know her well as I am very involved in Franklin Co. Pennsylvania which is where my and her ancestors settled after leaving Antrim in the early 1700's. I will be glad to pass a msg. on to her when she returns. While I am here I arranged last year for the Ulsterscots newspaper to be sent to a school in Greencastle, Antrim Township, Franklin Co., Pa., we tried to arrange for a sister school project but it sort of fizzled. However they are very interested in their roots and actually have a small museum devoted soley to the settlers. This area was settled on or before 1730 and it was complete wilderness and full of Indians.
