List members, I am pleased to type out the inscriptions on gravestones at Newtowncrommelin Presbyterian burying ground in County Antrim. OMG, our Johnstons were very close to Andersons who came over from Ireland too - my grandmother was Florence Anderson - and my father's middle name was Aickens - close to Aiken. Is there anyway to find out who the Andersons and Johnstons are that are buried there? Cliff. Hi Deb My McKay lot are the ones I am having trouble with. It is a common name in N I - of Scots descent. All I know about it is as follows. My great grandmother was Ellen McKAY born 1859 (from family stories, 1901 census and death cert). She married James McCONNELL in 1st Broughshane in 1875 when they both both just 15. They both gave their address as Knockboy, Broughshane. I have found James' baptism in 1st Broughshane but not Ellen's. Ellen gave her father as James McKAY a labourer. My LAGAN is Sarah b unknown may be cir 1810 - father possibly Hugh LAGAN. He was living in Grange of Ballyscullion near Portgelnone in 1861 (Griffiths) Sarah married George STONE in 1835. In 1861 George STONE and Hugh LAGAN were neigbours - George and Sarah called a son Hugh (my great grandfather) that is why I think Hugh may have been Sarah's dad. My GGreat Grandfather Cornelius O'Callaghan and wife Elizabeth Kennedy had a first child in Belfast/Antrim about 1855-1856. I am looking for the above a birth recorded in the regimental records (59th Reg of Foot). The military failed to record the Childs name or a specific location. Can anyone offer me some help or advice in tracking this birth down. The child could have been recorded as a Kennedy or O'Callaghan or one of the above variations. Richard Isaac - Brisbane Australia
