Harmen's parents were Hans Backhaus (1632-1685) and Catherine Beermann of Wendenborstel. Hans parents were Dietrich Backhaus (abt 1592-1662) & Engel Rust of Wendenborstel. I'm not sure that my Backhaus ancestors connect to yours, but the chances are pretty good. I have connected many of my Hannover area ancestors to their relatives who immigrated to the Chicago area, the St. Louis area, eastern Nebr., Kansas, and a few other areas which I believe includes New Orleans too.
