His father was Bernard Goedeker and Catherine Olding was his mother. They were both born in Germany. I feel that he must have been related to my great grandfather Bernard Goedeker from Loningen, Oldenburg, Germany who came to the US in 1888. George made millinery in St. Louis, MO. He died in 1917. HIs wife was Anna Hoerner, and they were Catholic. I am hoping that perhaps you might have Catherine Olding in your family tree. I appreciate any help you may be able to give. There were Goedeker's who settled in KY in Louisville also.
Greetings to the Niedersachsen List: I am looking for someone doing research in the area of Holzminden and Bad Driberg during the period from about 1860 to 1890. One of my grandfathers brothers, Maximillian Haase, had his photo taken at a studio with an address in the two above named towns. Max was born sometime between 1861 and 1879, but the photo dates to about16 or 17 years later. Grandfathers name was Johann Julius Haase. His and Max's father was also named Johann Haase. I would really appreciate some help and guidance here. I have checked the IGI and the LDS records from most of the Lutheran Churches in that area with nothing turning up. Thank You, Sincerely Warren Haase janwgh@localnet.com
