Hello Everyone, Thank you to all who wrote with suggestions to send funds to Germany in payment for genealogy research at a parish. Everything I tried seemed to hit a "brick wall". Finally decided to just buy some euros and mail them, my bank only sold them in increments of $100. so that didn't work, Ruesch International Bank Drafts didn't work, they no longer deal with individuals only companies. Someone on this list suggested International Currency Express their fee was $10. and it was very easy, I order the money order on an 800 phone #, gave them my credit card and they mail the MO to me and I mail it. Thought this might be helpful to someone else dealing with sending funds over seas. Have a good day, Stephanie in Oregon
We tried one of the places mentioned here (sorry, can't remember which 1-800 number it was). There was a payment deadline so we opted for the wire transfer instead of the check. It was not all that cheap and it took a very long time (we had to call them three or four times because they never got around to running the transfer). In the end, we found out our bank would write a check in Euros for us for something like a $6 fee. Next time we'll go with the bank. Rose Green researching HARTWIG
