Surnames: HOYER, HULLE Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ZVC.2ACE/4015 Message Board Post: I'm looking for information on William Frederick HULLE born Hanover about 1806, migrated to New South Wales on the "Harrier" in 1835 and naturalized in 1849. He married my ggg grandmother Eliza Woods (widow) in 1843 whose three children adopted the name HULLE. William Frederick HULLE was said to have changed his name shortly after his arrival in Australia. It was originally HOYER. He died 18th June 1865 at his house in Botany Street, Surry Hills. I had begun to think that the story of the alias was just a family myth until I found an address in my grandmother's old address book for a Mrs W. HOYER "Yooralla", Wahroonga --- a family connection, perhaps? I am very keen to follow William Hulle's path back into Germany and particularly to discover any living connections.
