I am searching for the Boehme family in Salzgitter, Niedersachsen. I haven t been able to find much information about this area. The population of the city is 115,500. Where do I look to find information about this area? Where would the records be stored? My great-Grandfather, Ernst Boehme came to the US between 1865 and 1875. He was born May 17, 1847. Family story is that his Mother died the day he was born (I don't know if this is true since there are several different stories). Thanks for your help. Linda
