Warren, If you have had no luck finding your films through the LDS-FHC you might want to contact the Immigrant Society in Burbank, California. I know that there is a charge for much of their information but I believe they will let you know if they have films for your area and time period. Attention anyone doing genealogical research on the town of Thorn and/or the Thorn/Bromberg area for the years 1860 to 1886. I am attempting to find my HAASE family. My grandfather, Johann Julius Haase, claimed Thorn as a birthplace, but a search of LDS-FHC microfilm does not show any records for the family. His parents names were Johann Haase and Juliania Ann Behnke. Their children were Ida Haase (born July 4, 1860) AnnMartha, known as "Martha" and Maxmilian, (both born between 1861 and 1879), Johann Julius Haase, my grandfather (born May 19, 1880) and Anna Haase (born circa 1885-1886). Max died at about 17 years of age in the Holzminden/Bad Driberg area. Ida emigrated to the USA and married in that country. Johann Julius Haase emigrated to the USA in 1903 and landed in Philadelphia. The family was Lutheran when in the USA. I have fairly complete information in the family in the USA from 1909 on but seven years of searching for their German roots has yielded nothing. Thank you in advance.
