Hi Linda, I've been out of town this past week, but am back at it now. My father came to Chicago in the 30's from Cornell, WI, then he and my mother, from Durand, WI, were married in Villa Park 1938. I was born in Warrenville in 1945, but raised in Elmhurst. My mother's ancestors were from Austria and my father's were from Scandinavia via Rushford, MN. My husband's ancestors were from Germany via St. Louis, and he was born and raised in Elmhurst. I'm currently working on his ancestory. Elmhurst was a very German town in the mid-1800's; Elmhurst College was founded as a German seminary.
