And where did they come to in the US? My own Schaumburgs came from Grossenenglis, near Fritzlar, in Hessen-Kassel. They came to Chicago, Wisconsin and Minnesota sometime about 1860-1870.

Did you know there is a suburb of Chicago (far west side) called Schaumburg? At least it was a suburb when I lived near Chicago in the 1960's......
