I am looking for relatives of Johan Piers(Pietsch ?)who was born in Bremerhaven 3/1/1881. His parents were Franz and Margrieta Piers(Pietsch ?). The family spent the winter in Bremerhaven and the summer in Cuxhaven. The family may have been Catholic. Johan went to sea as a cabin boy at the age of 15 or 16. Johan was my wife's grandfather. He took the name of Pierce when he jumped ship in Hoboken,NJ in 1900-1902. Does anyone on this list know where I might be able to find information if this type in the Bremerhaven area?
