Greetings List: I am searching for some additional data on my grandfathers sister, Her name was Ida Juliania Haase. Some background on her is as follows: She was born on July. 4,1860, d. Oct. 1942, Married Karl Henry Retzke; in the USA. They were married on 7-13-1886. had 13 children, and lived first in Chicago, IL, and later in Michigan. Her siblings were Anne-Martha Haase (known as "Martha") born between 1861 and 1879, Maxmilian Haase, also born between 1861 and 1879, , Johann Julius Haase (my grandfather) born May 11, 1880, and Anna Haase Born circa 1882-1885. Her parents were Johann Haase and Juliania Ann nee Behnke, believed to be from Thorn, West Prussia. The data I am looking for is: (1) The port she embarked from to emigrate to the US, (2) The date of her emigration, and; (3) The ship she came over on. This data will help confirm Ida's town of birth, presumed to be Thorn, West Prussia. When her brother Johann came to this country, he left from Bremen and arrived in Philadelphia, but I do not know if she traveled the same route. I would guess she traveled a year or two before her marriage, which would make it in about 1884/1885. She was not yet married, so she traveled as "Ida Haase."
