His home town was Ollendorf, Oldendorf or Ohlendorf. Parents were Marie Oest and Peter, Hermann or Christian Bennewitz. I would like to find a record of his birth or baptism and any other info. about the family. He came to the USA in 1866 , settled in the NYC area, married twice (Margaret McConnell, Amelia Vogt) and had three children with his second wife. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
