Laurie: Sage is almost directly south of the city of Oldenburg. If you have a somewhat recent map of that area it is just east of Hwy 29 and near the city of Grossenkneten. I have not taken the time to try to decipher distance on these maps--I should do that! I corresponded briefly with Heiko Ahlers who is really active in Genealogy and Ahlers research. He informed me that the Ahlers at one time were quite a large "clan." I do believe he said they were located in the areas all around the City of Oldenburg. You might look for the Ahlers list as I believe he might be able to give you quite a lot of information. If you search for that name on the Internet I think you will also find information about him. Just thought you might find that interesting if you are not already aware of him. I am not familiar with the locations that you mention but will check the map shortly to see what I can find.
