I hope that I am doing this right. My Menke family came from the northern part of Oldenburg. I believe there are connections to Mansholt, Rastede and other locations in that area. Great-grandfather, Johann Menke, was married in Wiefelstede to Marie Ahlers. The Ahlers family had some connections to the area near Sage--am not sure of the time frame for that. She had two siblings, Heinrich Ahlers, and a half-sister, Anna. Anna was born in/near Sage according to her death certificate. Thank you. --Joyce Keil
