    3. Hello Joyce, I go to Germany quite frequently to go through church books and cemetary records. If you have the Email of your friend please ask her if she has any objection to my contacting her so that I can send her my Ahlers details. I am part of a family tree with just short of 90,000 people and that now is maintained in Germany while I get on with my mothers records. If you find were my fathers family come from and you have family names that may come from there, feel free to pass them to me and I will see if I have any of them. I have still like all have some names still missing, but I rarely go into the Germany tree, that said I am very proud of my German Family contacts. If you have a somewhat recent map of that area it is just east of Hwy 29 and near the city of Grossenkneten. I have not taken the time to try to decipher distance on these maps--I should do that! I corresponded briefly with Heiko Ahlers who is really active in Genealogy and Ahlers research. He informed me that the Ahlers at one time were quite a large "clan." I do believe he said they were located in the areas all around the City of Oldenburg. You might look for the Ahlers list as I believe he might be able to give you quite a lot of information. If you search for that name on the Internet I think you will also find information about him. Just thought you might find that interesting if you are not already aware of him. I am not familiar with the locations that you mention but will check the map shortly to see what I can find. Thanks for getting in touch. ---Joyce ==== NIEDERSACHSEN Mailing List ==== Is it possible to contact living relatives in Germany? http://members.cox.net/hessen/telephones.htm ============================== New!
