Hi ... I've posted before but haven't seen anything about the Schroeders in a long time so I will try again with my brick wall ... While I know a great deal about my gggrandfather after his arrival in the US and his first marriage I cannot find a birth or marriage certificate for him in Germany or absolutely identify if Schinne or Stolzenau was the place he was born. I have located a birth certificate for his first two children in Stolzenau. I am anxious to find out about his parents and siblings. My great-great-grandfather was August Friedrich Gottleib Schroeder, born 5/27/1819 in either Schinne or Stolzenau (I suspect Stolzenau). He was married twice, first in Germany to Christine Sophie Wilhelmine Kanning with whom he had 3 children, Sophie Henriette Caroline, Heinrich Christian Wilheim and August Ludwig. The first two died in Indiana in 1854 ata very young age after immigrating with August to the US between 1849 and 1851. The third lived until 1913. August married Sophia Wilhelmine Charlotte Selking in Bingen Indiana on 2/12/1854. August and Charlotte had 8 children between 1854 and 1869. Charlotte died in 1887 in Bingen and August died in 1894 also in Bingen. Cheryle Rappe
