    3. Thanks, Bob, for the ideas. I've heard of that Missouri group before. Our Brunyer/Otten family wasn't part of it, but I'm sure that they came from the same place. Someone in Germany once told me that the area you mentioned is saturated with the names. We've checked some records, but haven't gotten through them all yet...will have to try Hanstedt. I might try to get that book through interlibrary loan. I've also heard of the researcher you mentioned. I do read the old script when I can get my hands on it, but few microfilms are available for this area (Wolfenbüttel). I'm trying all I can on my own before I have to resort to that, but it's good to hear an endorsement for his services. Thanks again for the ideas! Gives me something else to try. 3. Rose....... Because the book is so locally focused it may be difficult to get through a library loan although I do not know how that works on the international scene. If you are interested I can set you up with one of the authors - the guy who gave me mine. They were rather scarce when I was looking for it. I have a nice collections of village histories from all the places where I found my family and they have proven invaluable in my research, especially as they gave me an insight into the environments in which they lived. You may want to consider this also. It is from these sources that I can develop a more meaningful family history - rather than just names, dates and places. You mentioned Wolfenbüttel; is that a repository or will you be doing research in that area? If you will be researching folks from around there I would like to give you an alert to see if you might come across some of my ancestors. The earliest one I can find lived in Holtum-Geest, north of Verden. But I am told by researches that they probably came from the area of Wolfenbuttel/Braunschweig. How they know this but no more I have no idea but that is where my next effort will be made. Oh yes, we have a retired Lutheran Pastor here by the name of Hartwig but I don't know if he is into family research. Let me know if I can be of any help.
